eOdyn contracted by Mercator Ocean International as part of the Copernicus Marine Service Evolution.

We are pleased to announce that eOdyn which partnered with SHOM and IMT has entered into a contract with Mercator Ocean International as part of the ongoing evolution of the Copernicus Marine Service.

The Copernicus Marine Service is a comprehensive system for monitoring and forecasting the state of the world’s oceans, providing essential information for a wide range of applications including climate research, marine resource management, and weather forecasting. As part of this service, eOdyn will be working with Mercator Ocean International to improve the accuracy and resolution of oceanic current observations.

Using data from the Automatic Identification System (AIS), eOdyn will be able to complement existing altimetery-derived measurements with more frequent observations, particularly in areas of dense maritime traffic. This will provide a more complete picture of upper ocean circulation, enabling more accurate forecasts and better understanding of the role of the oceans in the global climate system.

We are excited to be collaborating with Mercator Ocean International on this important project and look forward to contributing to the ongoing evolution of the Copernicus Marine Service.
